Installed costs vary widely with preparation, slab condition, system thickness, chemical exposure, detailing and downtime. Area rates are only a starting point.
Is epoxy always the best industrial floor?
No. Urethane cement, polyaspartic, MMA, polished concrete and other systems may be better for specific thermal, chemical, schedule or maintenance conditions.
Why is surface preparation expensive?
Mechanical preparation, containment, repairs, testing and disposal create labour and equipment costs, but poor preparation is a major source of coating failure.
Can the site select a slip-resistant finish?
No. Texture must balance traction, cleanability, wheel traffic, footwear and local requirements.
Are coating chemicals hazardous?
Some products may contain sensitizers, solvents or isocyanates. Qualified contractors must follow product-specific safety requirements.
